Radio Apprentices
As part of the RAAF Apprenticeship Scheme, training of radio apprentices commenced with the enrolment of the first course at Radio Apprentice School, RAAF Frognall on 2 February 1948. The final course graduated at School of Radio, RAAF Williams on 8 December 1992 and the scheme closed. By then some 1,105 radio apprentices had graduated. Although overtaken by the RAAF's changing technological requirements, the radio apprentice scheme had provided the Air Force with highly skilled and motivated technicians for over 50 years.
Dedicated by members of No 7 Radio Apprentice Course on the occasion of its 50th Anniversary Reunion, Canberra,
11 March 2003.
