The Aleppo pine tree (Pinus halepensis) commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
The Aleppo Pine is one of two species of pine at Gallipoli, the other being the Lone Pine (Pinus brutia).

Where Australia Forces Landed On Sunday 25th April, 1915.
A Seed From The Original Lone Pine At Gallipoli Was Grown By
Mrs. G. T. McMullen,
And Presented To The Inverell RSL Sub Branch.
A Seedling From This Inverell Tree Was Presented To The
Bombala RSL Sub Branch Where It Now Stands Proudly
In Memory Of All Those Who Have Defended Our Great Country
