This Aleppo Pine (Pinus Halepensis) was
propagated from seeds collected from the Lone Pine Tree
in the grounds of the Australian War Memorial, Canberra.
It was planted here in April 2016 to commemorate the sports people
who have been casualties of war and to acknowledge
the role that sports can play in bringing healing, friendship and peace.
