The park commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. An "Australia Remembers " plaque is located on the entrance pillar.
Purchase of land for a recreation ground at Orford will be the subject of a public meeting if a suggestion by the Spring Bay Council is adopted. At a meeting of the council the Orford War Memorial Committee requested the council to purchase 10 acres of land at Orford from French Bros. for a public recreation ground. It was decided to inform the committee that it would be necessary for a requisition to be presented to the Warden (Mr. Thompson) for a public meeting.
