Cummins & District War Memorial Swimming PoolPrint Page Print this page

The swimming pool commemorates those who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

At a public meeting held in the Cummins Institute it was decided to construct a swimming pool, to be ready for next season. A suitable site has been selected by the recreation ground committee and this was adopted by the public meeting.  An enthusiastic committee comprising Messrs. H.F. Blacker, W. A. Trigg, J. Cronln. N. F. Trigg, K. Harris, M. Chambers and J. P. O'Brien was appointed to form an aquatic club to arrange for the necessary finance and to carry out the project. It is hoped to construct a pool approximately 60 yards by 20 yards on the north-east corner of the recreation ground. Mr. H. F. Blacker was chairman.
