The park commemorates those who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
The area was originally set aside as the site for the Kahibah Public School and, when no longer required for this purpose, handed over to the Lake Macquarie Shire Council for a memorial park in memory of the returned servicemen and women and pioneer miners of the Kahibah district.
