The park commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
The park is an area of Crown Land reserved for the purposes of “public recreation” and is managed by the Manly Warringah War Memorial Park (R68892) Reserve Trust, as appointed by the Minister for Lands in August 1997. Warringah Council manages the affairs of the Trust, under the provisions of the Crown Lands Act 1989, and is also responsible for the Park’s day-to-day management on behalf of the Trust.
