The War Memorial commemorates those who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The memorial was originally erected in memory of those who served in World War One. 

Lismore Sunday. There was a large attendance at the unveiling of the war memorial at Lismore this afternoon. More than 70 former soldiers were on parade, and visitors were present from Derrinallum, Camperdown, Colac and Skipton. When unveiling the memorial, Major General H. W. Grimwade said that the memorial was a symbol of unselfishness and patriotism, and stood for loyalty to King, Empire and country.  Among officers who attended were Lieut.-Colonel A. H. Godfrey (officer commanding the 23rd Battalion), Lieut.-Colonel J Harrison and Major G. A. Street. Captain V. V. Vale was in charge of the parade.
