The plaque commemorates the 10th Infantry Battalion (formerly the Adelaide Rifles) soldiers that served in the South African (Boer ) War, World War One and 2nd / 10th Battalion during World War Two.

10th Battalion soldiers were among the first wave of Australians to land at ANZAC Cove, Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.
