The Kingston Soldiers Memorial Hospital was erected in memory of those who fought and died for Australia.

The official opening of the Kingston Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Saturday was a memorable event which marked another important milestone in the progress of the district. This occasion had been long awaited, and the new institution will serve the whole district, and will provide a long-felt want. Its establishment has been due to the unswerving loyalty of all residents of the district who have contributed an average of £1,000 annually since the project was started.

Mr. Goode, Chairman of the Hospital Board, in his opening address, referred back to 1943, when the idea of this hospital first started, and which had become an accomplished fact. It was being opened to the public as a memorial to those who fought and died for Australia.
