George Town CenotaphPrint Page 
George Town Cenotaph commemorates thoise who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It is a black metal cylinder on a four stepped octagonal cement base, set on brick paving. On top of the cylinder is a clear plastic case containing an upturned rifle. A steel helmet sits on top of the rifle.
Max Harris, after whom the park is named, was a prisoner of war in Changi during World War Two.
