The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

A general meeting of the memorial hall committee was held in the Public School on January 31st, when, despite the wet weather a good attendance was registered. The treasurer presented his quarterly balance sheet and was complimented on the good results of the first quarterly balance from 7th Sept. to Dec. 31st, 1946. The committee feel pleased that their effort has given them a good credit balance in the bank, so with renewed efforts, and a very much larger working committee, their aim to build a memorial hall will be accomplished which will provide a long-felt want by the residents of Old Bar and surrounding districts; also something tangible for the benefit of ex-servicemen and ex-service women, in the very near future.
