Port Sorell Memorial Hall Print Page
The Memorial Hall was erected to commemorate those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
The hall was erected largely through the efforts of the Country Women's Association and officially opened in 1950.
Organised to celebrate the official opening of the Memorial Hall, a successful ball was held at Port Sorell on Friday. Official opening of the hall was performed by Mr. A. T. Cutts, M.L.C.; who was introduced by the Warden (Cr. F. Whitworth), as chairman of the hall trustees. Mr Cutts referred to the magnificent work of the C.W.A. branch in helping to bring about the establishment of the hall.
Advocate (Burnie), 14th November 1950.
