The plaque commemorates those from the 3rd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment who died in the service or were killed in action between 1948 and 2000.

The 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment was initially formed in 1945 as the 67th Battalion. It has been deployed to Japan, Korea, Malaya, Vietnam, East Timor, the Solomon Islands, Afghanistan and Iraq.
