Lake Gwelup Primary School ANZAC MemorialPrint Page
The Memorial commemorates the centenary of ANZAC and those who served in World War One. The memorial also commemorates the centenary of the school which was celebrated in 2014.
Funding of $26,605 was received through the Anzac Centenary Grants Program for the sculpture.
The memorial is a bronze sculpture that captures the moment before a returned World War One soldier embraces his young daughter. Deputy principal Jodi Piercey said a large amount of research and design had gone into the production of the artwork, which includes a child wearing a modern Lake Gwelup Primary School uniform.
