Railwaytown War MemorialPrint Page
The monument commemorates the 44 men from Railwaytown (Broken Hill) who died in service or were killed in action in World War One.
The monument was first proposed in 1919, however, money for the project was short and the concept was shelved until 96 years later when the community collaborated to raise the funds. Mawson`s donated a granite stone from its Broken Hill Quarry to the RSL for the memorial.
