The wooden honour roll commemorates those from the Shepparton State School who served in World War One.
Shepparton State School has one of the finest Honor Rolls of the Great War possessed by any primary school outside the metropolitan area. It is one that would be worthy of any school, and contains 186 names. Included in these will be found those of Mr. F. McNamara, V.C., who is now in the Australian Flying Corps; Mr. W. Don, B.A., now a lecturer at the Teachers’ College; and Mr, R. West, Shepparton's Town Clerk.
