Photographs supplied by Roger Johnson / Diane Watson

The honour roll commemorates those from the district who served in World War One. It was unveiled at the opening of the Soldiers Memorial at the Town Hall in 1923.

Two honour rolls were unveiled, the second being a tribute to the parents and wives of the district soldiers and also the women war workers and citizens who served the country at home during World War One.
