St James` Smithfield Roll of HonourPrint Page 
The marble honour roll commemorates those from the church who served in World War One.
At St. James' Church of England, Smithfield, an honor roll to the memory of members of the church who enlisted for active service, and 24 who were killed in action, was unveiled by Chaplain-Major R. H. Pitt-Owen in the presence of a large attendance. On a marble slab beneath a cross of beaten copper are the names of the men who died at the front.
