The marble honour roll commemorates those from the Newtown Tramway Depot who served in World War One.
The roll was originally unveiled in 1916 with additional names being added at a later date.
A roll of honour was unveiled at Newtown Tramway Depot on Sunday, by the Attorney General (Mr. D. R. Hall). Reference was made to Privates R. K. Burne, F. J. Bryant, J. R. Elrick, J. R. Hopkins, and A. E. Wood, who had been killed, and in their memory the N.S.W. Tramways' Band played Chopin's "Funeral March, " following with the National Anthem. The list contains about 60 names.
