The Cooma Methodist Memorial Church was built as a soldiers memorial, at a cost of £1700, to commemoratea those who served in World War One.  The church is now known as the Evangelical Memorial Uniting Church.

The foundation stone for the new memorial church was laid on 24 March 1926 by Mrs C. J. Poole, with the completed building opened in a special ceremony on 12 September 1926. At the ceremony in 1926, Padre Gault unveiled a Swedish pearl granite honour roll tablet in memory of Private Poole and Lance-Corporal Robinson and dedicated six memorial windows in memory of local pioneers.
