The hall was erected to commemorate the work of District soldiers and nurses during World War One.
The Hall was opened on the 23rd August 1923 and erected by Mr S. Brewer. The cost of the hall and fittings was approximately £1100 with the building materials supplied by Mr R Nesbit. The land on which the hall stands was donated by Mr. A. E.Jarvis
