Melrose Honour RollPrint Page
The marble honour roll commemorates those who served in World War One.
After the subject had lain dormant for some time, about six weeks ago the question was revived at a public meeting held at the Melrose Institute. Cr. T. W. Willington was appointed chairman and Mr. R. S. Kennedy secretary. After discussion on various suggestions placed before the meeting it was resolved that a plain stone obelisk be erected on one of the hills at the rear of the town and that a marble honor roll be placed in front of the Institute Hall.
