Riverton Memorial Hospital Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those who served in World War One.
Riverton was en fete on June 21 for the opening of the District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital by Lady Bridges. Colonel Butler, representing the R.S.A., thanked them for giving him the honor of being present at the opening of such a wonderful memorial. He asked Mrs. Dullea of Saddleworth, whose four sons went to the war, three of whom made the supreme sacrifice, to unveil the roll of honor in the hall of the hospital. The roll contains 86 names. The assemblage stood for a minute in silence. Then the 'Last Post' was sounded, and the National Anthem played.
