The wooden honour roll commemorates those from the district who served in World War One.

Saddleworth, August 15.  On Sunday afternoon a roll of honor, containing 66 names, 16 of whom made the supreme sacrifice, was unveiled in the institute hall by Senator J Newland. The late Mr Walter H Bee had signified his intention to present a roll of honor to the institute and his sister, Mrs C C Hill, had carried out his intentions. On behalf of the institute committee, the president Mr J A Morcom, accepted the gift. There was a large attendance and the combined Saddleworth and Returned Soldiers' bands played several selections.
