The Soldiers Park Avenue of Honour commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One. The plaques for these trees are now held in the Coalfields Museum.
The Honour Avenue of trees was planted by relatives of the fallen men on the 15th May 1921. One hundred and two nameplates were erected.
