Coolgardie Roll of HonourPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates 230 men who enlisted in World War One.
The Roll of Honour is about three feet square, the names being artistically worked with old gold cord on heavy white silk. In the centre is the Australian Coat of Arms, surmounted by the Union Jack and Australian flags, with the words "For King and Country" surmounting them. The roll is set in a handsome frame of polished jarrah and was worked and donated by Mrs George Chadwick. Mr George Lambert M.L.A on behalf of Mrs Chadwick presented the gift of the roll to the Mayor of Coolgardie and the roll was unveiled by the acting Mayoress, Mrs Strother on the 7th November 1917.
