Presbyterian Church Roll of HonourPrint Page Print this page

Photographs supplied by Arthur Garland

The framed paper roll of honour commemorates those from the Presbyterian Church who served in World War One.

Armistice Day was observed at Kempton by special service in all the churches. At the Presbyterian Church the honour board, which had been draped with the colours, had a laurel wreath placed on it in memory of the fallen. White lilies and a bowl of rosemary for remembrance were also placed in the church, and the solemn two minutes silence was observed at 11 a.m.

Note : the “Tasmanian War Memorials Data Base” , compiled by Fred Thornett which is located at the State Library of Tasmania, contains a comprehensive listing of the names on this honour roll.
