Allora WW1 Memorial
Photographs supplied by Diane Watson / Russell Byers / Fred Brunings / John Huth
The monument commemorates those who served in World War One.
The Allora Shire Soldiers Memorial was erected by public subscription at a cost of £310. The memorial was unveiled on the 11th November 1921 by General J.C. Robertson. General Robertson then asked the mothers of the fallen to unveil the memorial. Amid an impressive silence the mothers pulled a ribbon and the draping flags fell to the ground.
