The monument commemorates those who served in World War One.
Halifax War Memorial was unveiled by the Chairman of the Shire Council on the 25th April 1933 and honours those who served in World War One. The concrete obelisk was erected with money subscribed during the war and held by the Halifax Patriotic League for disbursement.
