The wooden honour roll commemorates those from the Shire of Normanby who served in World War One.

The honour roll was unveiled in the School of Arts on the 26th August 1916 by Mr J. Story, Under Secretary for Public Instruction on the 26th August 1916. In unveiling the honour board which contains the names of 77 volunteers from the Normanby Shire area, Mr Story gave a stirring patriotic address. He spoke of the splendid gallantry of the ANZACs in Egypt, he spoke of the fine work of Major-General H.G.Chauvel whose brother Lieutenant J Allan Chauvel, occupied a seat on the platform.
