The plaque commemorates those who trained at Mitcham Army Camp during World War One.
The school used to be the Army Training camp and the eucalyptus tree which is heritage listed was used as a hitching post for the horses of The South Australian cavalry units.

Mitcham Army Camp was located here during World War 1
1914 - 1918
This heritage listed tree was used as a hitching post for the horses of the South Australian cavalry units.
The plaque unveiled by Ron J. Lugg a soldier of the camp was erected in remembrance of those who trained here by :
