The cross commemorates Misty, the white mare who died in 1992 at the age of 35. An additional plaque was placed on the cross in memory of Jake who passed away in 1996.
Misty was renowned for wandering into the pub for a beer at the bar. When she died she was buried with due ceremony in the beer garden, with a cross and plaque to mark her memory.
