The plaque was erected in memory of all desert travellers who have sinced passed away.
On Saturday 9 June 2007, a team from Australia INSIGHT erected a plaque as a memorial to all desert travellers who can no longer feel the sand between their toes, but whose spirit lives on. The plaque is located at the site of a cross which was placed in memory of Russel Flanigan and Glenn who passed away in 2005.
Russel and Glenn traveled this region together in 2005. They left this life prematurely that same year. Glenn through illness and Russel as the result of tragic accident.
