Geraldton HospitalPrint Page

Photographs supplied by Erich Nussbaumer
The plaque acknowledges the hospital's important part in Geraldton's heritage and recognises the many dedicated doctors, nurses and staff who worked there over the years.
Now known as the Bill Sewell Complex, the building which once housed the Victoria District Hospital is a beautiful landmark in Geraldton. It is made of stone and is one of only two remaining in Australia built to the Florence Nightingale specifications. It operated as a hospital from the late 1800s to 1966 but now houses the Tourist Bureau, a doctor's surgery and a backpackers hostel.
