No Toxic Dump
On 12th November 2003 The Victorian State Government
Announced Plans To Locate A Toxic Waste Dump In This
District, And Threatened To Acquire The Farming Properties
Of The Burns, Crocker, Errey, Goldsworthy And Wills
Families For That Purpose.
This Plaque Is To Recognise That :
In Order To Protect The Lives, The Livelihood And The Well
Being Of The People In The Region And The Integrity Of The
Natural Environment, The Communities Of Baddaginnie,
Benalla And Violet Town United In A Well Organised
Campaign Which Defeated The Government Proposal.
