The gates commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the school in 1938.

Creswick. Sunday. Ornamental gates to commemorate the diamond jubilee of North Creswick State school. No. 2041, were opened yesterday by Mr. J. A. Graham, a former scholar, yesterday. The gates, which were erected by former scholars, were then presented to the school committee by the Old Scholars' Association. The jubilee celebrations were attended by 400 old scholars and visitors.

A back-to-school, under former teachers, was held, and a reunion tea followed. A birthday cake, with 60 candles, was cut by Mrs. H. Pearce, of Creswick, the oldest lady scholar. She was presented with a silver cake lifter, and Mr Graham with a pair of gold scissors as mementoes.
