The plaque commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Therry Dramatic Society from September 1943 to September 1993. A time capsule was lodged in the Catholic Archives. 

The Therry Society had branches in Adelaide, Perth and Sydney, and its aim was to bring people together in a happy Catholic atmosphere. The Dramatic Society's goals were in producing Christian drama and developing other arts, and to entertain audiences in a truly Catholic way.
