The Salvation Army
1897 - 1997

On New Year`s Day, 1897, members of the Salvation Army`s Nambour Camp arrived in Montville on horseback and held a spiritual meeting on the village green with the isolated families of farmers and timbergetters of the area.

Soon after a barracks was built adjacent to this hall.

This plaque was erected on January 1, 1997, by the Montville community to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the  Salvation Army`s long and close association with the village of Montville.
