Five bronze sculptures commemorate the Port Adelaide Swimming Carnival from 1923 to 1965.

The 'Swim through the Port' began in 1923, was open to both genders, and became one of the most prestigious swims in South Australia. A gruelling 2.5 kilometres, the swim began at Commercial Road ferry steps, continued along North Parade wharves and finished in the Portland Canal.
