Plaque :
The first Glenroy Golf Club was founded by Mr Alf Evans on his propoerty "The Echoes" not far from here in 1945.
Subsuquent sale of his property in 1957 prompted members to seek a new site. A portion of this Glenroy Reserve was secured from the Department of Lands and the club continued to flourish for another 20 years.
Local farmers designd and built the course (9 holes, sand greens) contributing much to the ongoing maintenance and running of the club.
We have to thank them for these unique and imaginative tee markers, erected in memory of a little country golf course and its members and associates.
