Surfing Walk of FamePrint Page
The Maroubra Beach Surfing Walk of Fame is an initiative of Randwick City Council, and every year bronze plaques are laid in the Promenade to recognise and pay tribute to the outstanding achievements of Australia`s world class surfers and surf lifesavers, from all walks of life. The Maroubra Beach Surfing Walk of Fame was the first of its kind in Australia, and is modelled on the famous World Surfing Walk of Fame in Huntington Beach, California.
National Surfing Reserve status signifies the cultural and historical importance of Maroubra Beach to Australian surfing and helps raise awareness about the importance of protecting our precious coastal environment.
