A number of Fig trees were planted in January 1901 to celebrate the Federation of the Australian States into the Commonwealth of Australia, and were re-dedicated in January 2001 to commemorate the Centenary of the Federation.

These Fig trees were laid to celebrate the Federation of Australia on 1st January 1901 and were officially re-dedicated on the 1st January 2001 to commemorate the Centenary of Federation.
