The plaque commemorates the Golden Jubilee of the Coopers Creek Bridge and the contributions of the Mains Roads Department workers between 1946 and 1949. and was unveiled during the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The new bridge spanning the main channel of Cooper's Creek, at Curravera Crossing, Windorah, is almost completed. It is expected to be opened within a few days, after having been under construction for three years.
