150th Anniversary of the Henry Dangar ExpeditionPrint Page Print this page

The plaque commemorates the 150th anniversary crossing of the Liverpool range from the Hunter Valley by the Henry Dangar party in 1824 who camped near this site.

Danger was assistant surveyor to John Oxley from 1821 to 1827 when he was suspended over a land dispute by Governor Darling. He later joined the Australian Agricultural Company, finding half a million acres of sheep grazing land for them, and selecting 700 of his own.
