The farming equipment and landscaping was a Bicentennial Project to commemorate the nation's bicentenary in 1988.
The Bicentenary marked the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet in Sydney in 1788. Captain Arthur Phillip (1738–1814), commander of the First Fleet, established the foundations of a British colony at Sydney Cove on the 26 January 1788.

The plough was imported from England in 1886 costing £880.10.6, delivered by train from Sydney to The Rock and then by bullock wagon to Boree Creek, used extensively for dam sinking and land clearing in Boree Creek and Lockhart Districts.
It was drawn by a team of 16 bullocks with an additional bullock yoked alongside to pull the plough upright.
