Centenary of the Village of Crescent HeadPrint Page 
The shelter memorial commemorates the centenary of the village of Crescent Head from 1884 to 1994.
Prior to the arrival of Europeans the area was inhabited by members of the Dunghutti Aboriginal language group. There was a track out to Crescent Head as early as 1830. Crescent Head was proclaimed a village in 1894.
