Liverpool`s First Burial GroundPrint Page 
The Pillar and plaque, erected on land set aside in 1811 by Governor Macquarie, commemorate Liverpool's first burial ground which was closed in 1821. The land was dedicated as a public park in 1950. The plaque was erected in 1962 by the Liverpool Historical Society.
