Gringegalgona Soldier SettlementPrint Page
A group of Gringegalgona people formed a committee for the purpose of erecting a monument and organising a `back to Gringe` celebrations.
The monument is a large natural stone about 1.5 metres long and 1 metre high, and has a plaque with the names of 28 soldier settlers. Wives are apparently not included as there is only one entry for each surname. The stone was originally located in a small reserve of native vegetation at the Grange Dip Road turn-off.
