The cairn and plaque commemorate the bullock teamsters who worked in Robe between 1847 -1920 and was unveiled during the Australian Bicentenary in 1988. 

Originally bullock teams pulling drays piled high with wool or wheat would use this Royal Circus as a turning circle when bringing their goods to the customs house before export.

This cairn commemorates the period 1847 - 1920 
when bullock teamsters used this royal circus 
when off-loading produce for shipment at Port 
Robe. Mr Percy Thorpe, committee member 
of the Aust. Bullock Drivers League, donated 
and unveiled this plaque as a tribute to those 
early teamsters.
